programme we offer specialization in Finance, Marketing, OB HR and Operations.
FIIB’s marketing area offers both core and elective courses like Marketing Management, Brand Management, Business-to-Business Marketing, Retail Marketing, Consumer Behaviour, Integrated Marketing Communications, Digital Marketing, Marketing Research & Analytics, Sales and Distribution Management, Customer Relationship Marketing, Business Development Sales & Negotiation, Marketing of Luxury Products, Strategic Marketing, International Marketing and Services Marketing.
In addition to classroom theory led by experienced faculty members, the area employs an experiential learning approach. The various areas of marketing are explored through case studies, guest sessions, presentations, field-based projects, discussion questions, quizzes, class discussions, role-plays, exercises, etc. All the marketing sessions are intended to offer students the skills, tools, concepts, and practices required for a successful career.
Finance area prepares students for careers in Corporate Finance, Marketing of Financial Products and Services, Banking & Investment domains, Rating, and Financial Research & Consultancy. The area offers both core and elective courses like Financial Statement Analysis, Financial Services, Investment Banking, Financial Modelling, Derivatives and Risk Management, Risk Analytics, Security Analysis and Valuations, Portfolio Management, Advanced Corporate Finance, Taxation and Regulatory Planning, Management of Banks and Financial Institutions, and many contemporary financial management and Fintech topics.
Various areas of Finance are explored through case studies, guest sessions, presentations, group projects, discussion questions, quizzes, class discussions, problem-solving exercises etc. Most of the finance sessions are hands-on sessions on excel, R software, Eviews, etc. with the intention to build financial analytical skills of the students.
Operations area is offered for major or minor specialization at FIIB, with electives that aim to develop professionals capable of managing processes of business operations and supply chain logistics that add value to both customer need and quality deliverables in business operations. The Operations Management courses prepare students to target the career tracks of MT- Service Operations, MT-Operations and SCM-Freight.
Operation management is a discipline with multiple facets attached to it. The knowledge of operations is considered as mandatory for leadership positions in almost all the industries. The students participate in practical / case driven learning to develop the skills of evaluating and executing work processes and make them more efficient and robust.
OB & HR specialization courses offered to students work towards developing both soft skills and hard skills of the students. From the technicality of understanding compensation plans to making strategic decisions derived from analytics to the psychology of attracting, engaging, motivating and retaining talent, students are trained with an emphasis on the experiential learning methods. Students are oriented and encouraged to develop a mindset of adding value to the organization with optimal utilization of resources.
Given its omnipresent relevance in the new age business world, Business Analytics is offered at FIB as a horizontal and a minor specialization stream which integrates with all the major vertical specializations, i.e. Finance, Marketing, Operations and Human Resource.
As data skills are considered as essential for surviving in new world, students are offered courses which build their skills in Business Intelligence and reporting, Number crunching and modelling skills in Excel, Database handling, Automation of process through programming macros and Predictive Analytics through specialized language R/Python.
Analytics students are expected to demonstrate their learning and use analytics to bring better efficiency, effectiveness and productivity in the business decision making and processes. The area caters to the career tracks of Business Analyst (BA) and Data Analyst (DA).
