2-Day IMC 2019 Starts a New Discourse in Management Research, Innovation and Technology

5th edition of two-day International Management Conference (IMC) 2019 was successfully organized jointly by the Fortune Institute of International Business (FIIB), New Delhi, and Burgundy School of Business, France, on the Advances in Management through Research, Innovation & Technology (AMRIT), where a congregation of more than 20 resource persons, including academics and industry experts, from nations including Australia, France, India, Kuwait, Nepal, New Zealand, Portugal, UK and USA, participated and addressed the agenda of research, innovation and technology and its relevance in the efficacy of management education and practices.

Director of FIIB, New Delhi, Dr Anil Kumar Sinha, welcomed the delegates and congratulated them for their presence in his inaugural address, sharing his ideas briefly on the relevance of the Conference. Angela Yu (Australia), Dr. Cornelia Caseau (France), Dr. Justin Paul (USA), Dr. Radhe S. Pradhan (Nepal), and Dr. Amiya Mohapatra (India) were also present on the dais.

Themes of globalization of businesses, framework of international marketing, analytical approach in integrated marketing communications, and convergence particularly of the socio-economic and academic paradigms, were discussed in the inauguration, setting the tone of the International Conference.

Conference Souvenir and two edited volumes of the articles being presented at IMC 2019, were released. Dr Arvind Ashta (France) presented a copy of his recent-published book on social entrepreneurship to the library of FIIB.

Dr Arvind Ashta (Burgundy School of Business, France) moderated the panel discussion and opened the discussion by introducing the theme and speakers, welcoming the speakers and audience alike. Panelists included Dr Aneesh Zutshi (Nova University in Lisbon, Portugal), Dr. P. Satish (Executive Director, Sa-Dhan, India), Dr. Pushkar P. Jha (Newcastle Business School, UK), Dr Reetesh Kumar Singh (Delhi School of Economics, India) and Dr. Justin Paul (University of Puerto Rico, USA).

Four Technical Sessions were held on General Management, Marketing, Finance, and HRM & Strategy. In the late afternoon today, the Valedictory Session was held to discuss the outcomes and point out the takeaways from the two-day IMC 2019, where FIIB Director Dr Anil Kumar Sinha shared the Conference outcomes with the participants, citing the 5-year journey of the IMC. This was shortly followed by a networking evening tea to facilitate a platform of unconstrained interaction among the participants.

Resource Persons of the IMC 2019 also included Dr. Reginald James-William (Western Institute of Technology in Taranaki, New Zealand), Dr Reetesh Kumar Singh (Delhi School of Economics, India), Dr Ankur Saxena (Sage University, India), Prof. Anant Raj Ghimre (Uniglobe College, Nepal), Dr Radhe S. Pradhan (Uniglobe College, Nepal), Dr Chris Patel (Macquarie University, Australia), Dr Amit Kumar Singh (Delhi School of Economics, India), Dr Nar Bahadur Bista (Uniglobe College, Nepal), Dr Pushkar P. Jha (Newcastle Business School, UK), Dr Nandeesh M. Hiremath (Indus Business Academy, India), and Dr Srirang Jha (Apeejay School of Management, India). Faculty from FIIB as resource persons will include Dr Nimit Gupta, Dr Asheesh Pandey and Dr Nidhi Maheshwari. Most striking feature of the IMC 2019 was the active and curious participation of students, particularly of 70 of them from Nepal who contributed 33 original research presentations at the Conference, adding freshness and more relevance to the Conference. Students of FIIB too played a key role in the smooth conduct of show at the IMC 2019 with their administrative acumen, besides contributing to the paper presentations.
