Day-long blood donation drive conducted at FIIB

In a noble gesture and reflect upon its social commitment, FIIB in association with the Lions Clubs International, on Thursday, November 22, initiated a blood donation drive.

The day-long drive witnessed a considerable number of participation of FIIB students, faculty, staff, senior management as well as the administration. Special arrangements like setting up of camp and release of pre-donation advisory were made by the FIIB student-lead Jaagriti club.

Jaagriti Club forms an integral part of the Campus Sustainability Initiative and strives to reflect upon the social responsibility towards life and environment. The club by the students for the students aims to educate and create awareness on social and environmental issues through various campaigns, initiatives, events, and interactions.

In order to ensure safe blood transmission and precautions for donors, experienced nursing practitioners in supervision of senior expert doctors performed blood tests to assess the health state of donors.

Over 82 units of blood donated by more than 84 individuals were successfully collected. The camp also saw the participation of several volunteers. The success of the drive can be attributed to the efforts and dedication of the doctors and assisting nurses. Proving to be instrumental in planning and executing the drive, Jaagriti club encouraged a large number of individuals to donate blood.

As token of appreciation for their noble act, donors were provided with a glass of fruit juice, fruits as well as the gifts. Due to the relentless hard-work of Jaagriti Club with the support of FIIB administration, another step in its continuous endeavour to give back to the society has been taken by FIIB.
