Informative Management Development Program on Challenges for Future Leadership conducted at FIIB

With a view to highlight modern-age concepts, ideas and strategies for effective leadership and management, a two day Management Development Program on Challenges for Future Leadership focussing New perspectives for Gen-Y Managers was conducted at FIIB on December 17 and 18.

The program was attended by 7 participants from various reputed organizations such as Power Grid Corporation of India, Engineering Projects India Limited, KidZania India, and Mercer for GMs/DGMs/Sr Managers, belonging to various verticals like HRD, Engineering, Projects and T&D.

In his address during the program, Dr. Shyam. S. Lodha, Professor of Global Business at Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven, Connecticut, USA explained about understanding the Portrait of Indian Leader & Evaluating the leadership by understanding that Leaders are the key to unlock the complexities of human behavior. He also explained about how a Leader can inculcate change with new emerging dimensions of Leadership in Gen - Y era.

On the topic of Implication of change impacting on business and industry & strategic thinking: Developing a cross-functional holistic orientation, Dr. Vidya M Iyer explained what it means to lead "from the inside out" and what traits distinguish inside-out leaders. She discussed about how Perfect Professional will provide inputs/ insights to leaders and managers on contemporary issues, impacting them at the individual and organizational level.

Apart from that Dr. Vikram Singh, IPS Retd, ex-DGP, Uttar Pradesh spoke on Developing Value Based and Ethical Leadership with Socially Responsible Behaviors. During his conversation he quoted, Robert Clive, Warren Hastings, for there unethical behaviors & Mahatma Gandhi, Subhas Chandra Bose for theirs high ethics. He stressed Values are intrinsic to lives, they add to the strength of character and the righteousness of our beliefs. He expressed that all are entrusted with the duty of being promoters and protectors of values.

Opening an another session on Profile & Thoughts of Millennials Leaders, Dr. Shyam. S. Lodha talked about how they are different from traditional leaders by stating that Gen -Y are highly 'entitled' personalities: want good pay benefits, rapid advancement, work & life balance and diversity driven leadership with employee engagement. He also discussed about the modern leaders who influence and change the society.
