The Fortune Institute of International Business (FIIB) has been at the forefront of imparting quality management education not only to its students, but also to the corporate world. This is reflected in the extensive number of management development programs that the faculty at FIIB try to conduct for executives from various organizations based at India and abroad.

FIIB organized a four days management development program on Logistics Management, Procurement, Monitoring and Effective Evaluation from 24th December till 28th December 2015 at its campus.

Officials from the Ministry of counter narcotics Afghanistan attended the seminar. The four daylong event focused on learning the importance of monitoring and evaluation in implementing various funded projects. Department engaged in monitoring and evaluation of projects, the inter-relationship between various functions of the department like project monitoring , evaluation , procurement, logistics , financial implications , HR performance matrix.

The personnel from Afghanistan along with the faculty members of FIIB jointly discussed on the changing environment that can be experienced in the developing countries, like shifting politics, unstable economies, lack of basic infrastructure, and limited application of enterprise management technologies. Alternative strategies that has be adopted to balance the extent of localization versus integrated globalization in order to succeed in these unpredictable and individually unique markets.

The delegates from the Department of Counter Narcotics Afghanistan visited the facilitating center of which is the country’s third largest e-retailing site. This fulfillment center is managed by DHL & Blue Dart and is located at Berhampur in Gurgaon. The officials got exposed to the process of order processing, inventory management and packaging/labelling of the ordered products. The delegates were shown all the processes in order and in motion, at the same time they got time to interact with the workers also. The role of Information Technology and advancement of Logistics/Procurement processes were appreciated by the delegates and a discussion took place on the roadmap for similar developments of market place model in retailing in Afghanistan.
