Placement Readiness Programme undertaken by 2nd-year students

Fortune Institute of International Business (FIIB) recently conducted a Placement Readiness Programme for its 2016-18 batch. Held between 8th-12th August, it was conducted by five trainers from Catalyst and was internally coordinated by FIIB's CMC team, Career Success team and SPAC members. The goals of the programme were to address various doubts that the students have regarding placements, hone their knowledge and skills with practice material and ensure that they have a targeted and focused approach.

The training was led by Catalyst founder, Ms. Priti Agarwal, who is an XLRI alum with professional interests in sales, consulting, business development, learning & development and building organizational capability. In the past she has conducted a number of consulting projects and training programs on sales effectiveness, leadership, communication and time management, amongst others. The other trainers in the programme were of equal repute with more than 15 years of cumulative experience in talent acquisition & engagement, performance coaching, competency mapping and business etiquette enhancement.

Majorly divided into 3 sections-Aptitude, GD and Interview-the training also included domain-specific sessions in Finance, Marketing, HR/OB and Operations/ISM. The trainers were able to deliver practical knowledge of the subjects to students, while aiding them in forging their career paths according to market needs. They also addressed student queries on key issues related to specific domain areas.

According to the students, the training not only made them cognizant of their strengths and improvement areas, but also offered them resourceful insights pertaining to recruiter needs. It also helped them in improving their confidence and possessing a positive attitude.
