Marketing Conference – Brand Rovers
FIIB is a premium B-school from Delhi NCR region delivering quality management education and pursuing and promoting the agenda of #NeverStopLearning! To inculcate the culture and habit of learning ‘by doing’ among its students, the institute has incubated several student-led and -driven domain based clubs. One such club is the Marketing Club, popularly called Brand Rovers, that help students interested in building their career in the marketing domain organize and participate in industry-centric events and fun learning activities to get better prepared for their corporate journey as marketing professionals.
This club recently conducted a Marketing Career Conference on 6th January 2021. The institute was honored to have 4 distinguished industry speakers from the Marketing domain representing two different career tracks Marketing Communications and Sales & Business Development.
Mr. T. Parthasarathy, Founder and President at TYPESS YenTERNATIONAL, Ms. Puja Chadha, Brand Manager at Pure Diets Groups, Mr. Manoj Sundararajan, Director, Sales & Marketing at Risland India ,and Mr.Jagdish Dora, Digital Marketing Manager at EY were the keynote speakers for the day and they addressed the session in details introducing and clearing several marketing trends and concepts as well as shared some tips and insights about how to succeed in a marketing career. They also enlightened the students about some new normals in consumer behaviour and the society and the emerging market trends and industry innovations.

-Mr Manoj Sundararajan believes that a marketing aspirant must pace up well with the market’s volatility. The world is changing and so is the requirement of the customers. No matter how much one tries, grabbing everything with both hands may often be a slippery proposition. Hence, being proactive and staying updated with data is essential. One must keep in mind that the pandemic has changed the course of the market in several ways and thus one must be aware of all the fresh concepts. Good research is required both in terms of market analysis and networking.
-We may think that the ever magnetic virtual space might cost a bomb to advertisers or new businesses who want to create a fresh identity in the virtual space. But, Mr. Jagdish Dora updated us that marketing budgets in the offline mode can often be costlier than the online ones. With proper research and analysis one can decide on the budgets without burning a hole in the pocket and build stronger stability and sustainability in the business.
–Ms. Puja Chadha enlightened the students by discussing the importance of innovations in digital marketing in a way that everyone could understand. She also spent some time clarifying and making it easier for students to understand different concepts and aspects of digital marketing.
-Mr T. Parthasarathy, said that brushing up our techniques and skills are essential, more so during this pandemic. For instance, digital tools and techniques are in high demand these days and one must improve one;s proficiency in this domain in order to excel higher in the marketing field.
The speakers also emphasized on the importance of communication in the marketing field, where the essence is to understand and reach out to connect with the customer for the product and services offered. They outlined that the Marcom function is drastically getting penetrated by integrated AI and machine learning technologies and algorithms and that this may throw up some exciting and lucrative career opportunities in the marketing domain.
There was also a 15 minutes Q&A session for the audience to ask questions, and the club concluded the conference by honouring guest speakers with E- Certificates and with thanking notes.
The students found the conference highly educative and insightful, and felt that it would help them get corporate ready as it also covered discussion on different types of job opportunities available in the marketing domain for freshers.
