New Delhi, October 29, 2026: Fortune Institute of International Business (FIIB) hosted a pool campus drive for MRF today, welcoming around 150 MBA students from 12 colleges to its Vasant Vihar campus for a two-stage selection process conducted by MRF’s recruitment team.
For many participants, the drive was an early opportunity to engage directly with one of India’s leading manufacturers and experience how a large organization evaluates emerging talent.
Two rounds, two different tests
The process opened with a Group Discussion round. Rather than rewarding the loudest voice, the format asked candidates to reason through a topic together, build on one another’s ideas and recognize when listening mattered more than speaking.
Candidates then moved on to Personal Interviews, where the conversation went beyond academic records and resumes to how each student thinks, communicates and approaches a problem.
From the panel
The selection panel comprised Mr. Sunish Cherian, National Sales Manager, MRF, and Mr. Sujith, Manager HR, MRF. Speaking about this year’s candidates, Mr. Sunish Cherian said, “Earlier, we saw students who weren’t sure whether they wanted to get into sales, marketing or another space. This year, we found they have better clarity, and they know what to expect from the role.”

He added that live project experience helps students stand out. “It enables them to bridge the gap between academics and the reality of the market. That gap has reduced a lot, and it has to be a continuous process,” he said. His advice to students preparing for placements was direct: “Be truthful to yourself. This is the first stepping stone of your career, and the right fit leads to better and faster career growth.”
MRF has been a recruitment partner to FIIB for more than five years. By hosting a pool campus, FIIB extended that relationship beyond its own students, giving MBA students from other institutions access to the same opportunity on common ground.
Preparing students for moments like these
At FIIB, readiness for selection processes is built long before recruiters arrive on campus. Through SANKALP, the institute’s four-stage employability framework, PGDM students work through aptitude assessments, group discussions, personal interviews and mock hiring exercises, with a gap analysis at every stage. The process begins in the first week of the program and is supported by faculty mentors, industry mentors, peer teams and the career office.

As an industry-first B-school, FIIB works with 250+ recruiters across sectors and has recorded 98% placements. Drives like this one reflect the institute’s belief that careers are built through steady preparation and real engagement with industry, not left to placement season. FIIB India thanks the MRF team for conducting the drive and extends its best wishes to every student who participated.
